WESTFIELD AREA Y'S EARLY LEARNING CENTER MAKES BAKED APPLES

WESTFIELD AREA Y'S EARLY LEARNING CENTER MAKES BAKED APPLES

The Bookworms class at the Westfield Area Y’s Early Learning Center on Elm Street learned how to make baked apples as part of Mrs. Strunck’s lesson on trees in celebration of Johnny Appleseed’s birthday. The full day preschool students cut apples and sprinkled them with cinnamon. The apples were then baked until soft.

The Westfield Area Y offers full day early learning programs to boost youth development by offering infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop relationships and build self-reliance through character development and a structured curriculum. Registration for Westfield Area Y’s early learning programs is going on now. Tours can be scheduled by contacting Eileen Rooney, Westfield Area Y Director of Early Childhood at (908) 654-8460 or erooney@westfieldynj.org. To learn more about the Westfield Area Y programs visit www.westfieldynj.org. Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
