• New NJ School Phone Ban Starts for Denville Students Sept. 8, 2026 (denvillenow.com) — When Denville students return to school on September 8, they'll face a new bell-to-bell state ban on non-academic use of smartphones and other internet-enabled devices. Local schools must follow Trenton's rules but can choose how phones are stored, with exceptions for documented educational or health needs. Families are urged to review handbooks and the district website before classes begin. 
• Denville Issues Tax Sale Notice for Unpaid Property Charges (morrisfocus.com) — Denville is moving ahead with an online tax lien sale on October 8 for properties with unpaid 2025 and earlier taxes and municipal charges, and owners still have time to pay and avoid inclusion. The auction site opens September 8, with details available free online and additional documents on the township website. If you're behind, the tax office urges you to call before remitting payment.
• Man charged after alleged sexual contact involving juvenile in Morris County (wrnjradio.com) — Police in Denville Township arrested a 21-year-old New York man after a juvenile girl reported being grabbed inappropriately on August 21. Officers quickly responded, located the suspect on Broadway as he tried to leave in an Uber, and charged him with criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held at the Morris County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
