Evening Tour historic Clawson House in conjuntion with Friday In the Park event

We are delighted to share a special invitation for an evening out that brings together history and the beauty of Clawson Park.

🗓️ Friday, September 11th

⏰ 6 PM – 8 PM

📍 East Amwell Historical Society Museum & Gallery at the historic Clawson House, 1053 Old York Rd, Ringoes, NJ and at the Clawson Park Friday Night in the Park event from 5PM-7PM (Details attached)

During the township’s Friday Night at the Park event that will have Food Trucks, a Live Band and Fun for the Whole Family – the East Amwell Historical Society Museum and Gallery will open its doors to the Historic Clawson House from 6 PM to 8 PM for a rare and atmospheric guided night tour.

Step inside this remarkable period home—its earliest foundation dating back to the 1700s, later expanded into the 1800s residence once owned by Henry and Marion Clawson. This is your chance to walk through centuries of history, room by room and wander through the new exhibit grounded in the Revolutionary era.

🍫 Enjoy Hors d’oeuvres, bubbly and chocolates in the beautiful 1800s kitchen as you explore the period rooms of the Clawson House.

🎥 Settle in the parlor room for a 16‑minute Revolutionary War film tracing George Washington’s footsteps through New Jersey during the 10 Crucial Days.

🕯️ Then wander through the immersive Hidden History of the Revolution exhibit — a journey of:

• Spies

• 1776 communication hubs such as the Ringo, Anderson, and Esleen Taverns

• Scouts and couriers (Did you know...Paul Revere rode through New Jersey several times!)

• Farms and mills that fed the Continental and Hunterdon Militia armies

• Women who helped win the war

• The Old York Road passageway that helped turn the tide toward independence (George Washington considered it the safest passage in NJ and PA!)

Whether you’re seeing the new exhibit for the first time or returning to absorb more of its story, the gallery offers a rich, unforgettable experience.
