13 Quarantine After Positive COVID Case In East Brunswick Schools
Seven students and six teachers will quarantine after a student from Lawrence Brook Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19.
EAST BRUSNWICK, NJ – A Lawrence Brook Elementary School student tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in seven students and six teachers to quarantine, the school district announced Thursday.
According to East Brunswick school Superintendent Victor Valeski, the student has been not been in school since Oct. 8 because they were already in quarantine as “close contact” to a family member.
“Now, because of this positive result seven students and six teachers, all who provided support in the classroom at varying times, will quarantine,” said Valeski.

Valeski said the student self-reported the positive result to the school district on Thursday morning.
“I never like reporting another positive case of COVID. I wish our student’s healthy return to school and want to highlight how the effectiveness of rapid self-reporting is allowing us to continue operating schools,” Valeski said in his message to the school community.
