ADK Keeps Elijah's Promise

Altruism performed by local Alpha Delta Kappa chapter and partners.

Fighting hate by performing overwhelming acts of kindness, the State President of Alpha Delta Kappa, Cathy Pierson, joined the Kappa chapter in packing 100 snack packs for Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen on Tuesday, January 23rd. ADK has been volunteering at the soup kitchen for over 30 years. Since the onset of Covid, Elijah’s need to serve the working poor and homeless has grown exponentially.

ADK is an international group of women educators. It engages in charitable and educational projects, contributes to world understanding, recognizes outstanding women educators, and promotes high standards of education. Working in partnership with other community organizations such as Hadassah, the Kappa chapter grows stronger together. Town-wide programs and presentations on sustainability, climate change, world news, fundraisers for local charities and scholarships to high school seniors in 3 towns are just some of the ways in which the Kappa chapter has made an impact.

So that our neighbors in need will never go hungry ADK’s Kappa chapter and the East Brunswick Hadassah chapter work together to keep Elijah’s Promise.
