Boy Pulled From Crystal Springs Water Park Pool Dies: Officials
The 7-year-old boy died a week after he was pulled from the water, officials say.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The 7-year-old boy who was pulled from the water at Crystal Springs Family Water Park last week has died, officials say.
East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen made the announcement on social media on Friday evening, saying: "It is with the deepest regret that I must report the passing of the young boy who was involved in the swimming accident a little over a week ago at Crystal Springs Water Park, East Brunswick."
"I share the sentiments of the entire community in offering our prayers and condolences to the family as they enter this very difficult time," he said.

The boy had been in critical condition after he was pulled from the pool on Monday, July 30th. The boy has not been identified.
At approximately 3:35 p.m. on July 30th, East Brunswick patrol units responded to Crystal Springs Family Water park on a report of a child not breathing, police said.

Officers, along with water park personnel and EMS, performed CPR on the child who was then transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, police said.
A witness told MyCentralJersey.com that they saw emergency personnel near the deep end of the Sapphire Bay section of the water park that Monday afternoon.
Crystal Springs is a very popular area water park located on Dunham's Corner Road. As a result of the incident, it closed early on Monday.

Drowning is the second-leading cause of accidental deaths for children under the age of 15, according to the CDC.
