At a press conference held at the East Brunswick campus Thursday morning, County officials unveiled the new name and logo

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools will now be known as the Middlesex County Magnet Schools, the County announced Thursday.
At a press conference held at the East Brunswick campus Thursday morning, County officials said the new name accurately represents the specialized education the schools offer students. With the county expanding and growing, the programs have become more rigorous, especially the STEM subjects, County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios said.
“The County fully supports the changes taking place in this school district. In fact, they are in keeping with Destination 2040, the County’s master plan for long-term economic success. I know that I speak on behalf of the entire Board of County Commissioners when I say that I have full confidence in the district’s ability to continue providing the current generation of learners and future generations, the opportunity to explore their interests and develop the knowledge and skills they need to achieve success in our community,” Rios said at the press conference.
