Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in South River Welcomes New Priest-in-Charge

SOUTH RIVER, NJ — Holy Trinity Episcopal Church joyfully announces the appointment of The Reverend Joseph Luzardo as Priest-in-Charge beginning July 1, 2026. Rev. Luzardo brings a deep commitment to spiritual care, community engagement, and faith formation to South River.

Rev. Luzardo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve: “I am incredibly honored and privileged to return to Holy Trinity, South River as Priest-in-Charge. I lovingly embrace the challenges and the responsibility to care, protect and lead the church into the future that God has purposed for us. I look forward to working hand in hand with the South River community and sharing ideas for building up our communities of worship, especially in today’s challenging world.”

Ordained a Deacon in 2019 and a Priest in 2025 in the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey, Rev. Luzardo previously served at St. Peter’s in Perth Amboy, St. Thomas in Red Bank, and St. John’s in Elizabeth. Before joining Holy Trinity, he worked in facilities management within the pharmaceutical industry. Raised in a bilingual English–Spanish household, Rev. Luzardo is eager to support and expand Holy Trinity’s Hispanic Ministry. Beginning September 13, 2026, Holy Trinity South River will offer a Spanish‑language worship service every Sunday at 1 p.m.

Holy Trinity’s “Kick-off Sunday” and Rev. Luzardo’s official welcome will be held on September 13, 2026, all parishioners and community members are invited to attend. Worship services will be held at 8 am (English), 10 am (English) and 1 pm (Spanish), with a reception between the 10 am & 1 pm services. All are welcome!
