Updated Result:Democrats, Incumbents Sweep Elections In East Brunswick

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — The final results of the 2020 election are here. The Middlesex County Board of Elections released the final tally of the 2022 election on Monday.

All three incumbents - Heather Guas, Mark Csizmar and Liwu Hong swept the Board of Education elections.

Here’s the final vote tally:

• Mark Csizmar: 8,384
• Liwu Hong: 7,319
• Heather Allison Guas: 6,024
• Alexander Spielman: 5,858
• Joseph "Yosef" Schmidt: 4,010

In the Council election, Democrats held the lead over their Republican challengers. Incumbents were voted back into office, and residents put a newcomer, Dana Winston, on the Council.

Here’s the final vote tally:

• Kevin T. McEvoy (D): 8,785
• Dana Zimbicki (D): 8,915
• Dana Winston (D): 8,677
• James Wendell (D): 8,667
• Antoinette Evola (R): 6,761
• Joseph Kincaid (R): 6,879
• David Herrera (R): 6,950
• Neal Shah (R): 6,805

To make the tally official, the final certification of the results must be done by Nov. 26.
