Levine, Furman & Rubin, LLC Joins Legal Industry Leadership Council

Firm inspiring others to join the fight to end Alzheimer's by supporting the legal needs of caregivers and those living with dementia

FLORHAM PARK, NJ —In order to support the needs of the many families within the growing Alzheimer’s population, the Alzheimer’s Association is proud to announce the creation of the Legal Industry Leadership Council (LILC). The LILC aims to increase attorneys’ awareness of legal issues that these families face including guardianship, succession planning, powers of attorney and health care proxies. It also looks to provide resources for families and businesses affected by an Alzheimer’s diagnosis—the association already fields more than 300,000 such calls every year. Participating law firms also are invited to engage their employees and communities to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research through galas, walks, bike rides and other initiatives.

On a local level, Levine, Furman & Rubin, LLC, Estate Planning & Elder Law Attorney’s, has joined the fight. With offices in East Brunswick and Jackson, they are a long-standing supporter of the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter (AAGNJ). The firm is a leading sponsor of the Mercer-Middlesex Walk to End Alzheimer's®, taking place this year on September 17 at Veteran’s Park in Hamilton, NJ — the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research.

Adam Rubin, partner and AAGNJ Board member explains, “As an elder law attorney, being asked to serve on the LILC leadership committee is one of the biggest honors of my legal career. As Alzheimer’s continues to affect more families, I take my responsibility to navigate the legal issues for a family impacted by Alzheimer’s incredibly serious. It is imperative that families know EVERY resource available as they navigate this unchartered territory. The formation of the Legal Industry Leadership Council is a blessing for elder law attorneys as well. It is going to allow me to connect my clients with the invaluable resources that the Alzheimer’s Association provides, and promote these legal resources to other attorneys who NEED to know about them.”

Adam’s strong commitment to furthering the impact of the LILC inspired him to share the opportunity nation-wide with the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorney’s (AAEPA) who has since partnered with, and is raising funds to support the mission of, the Alzheimer’s Association.

Rubin continues, "Levine, Furman & Rubin is proud to further our support of the mission of the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter by our membership in the LILC. I see the dramatic impact Alzheimer's has on individuals living with the disease, and their families. Being able to serve as a Board member, and participate and sponsor the Walk to End Alzheimer's, is a point of pride for everyone at our firm. We are truly honored to be aligned with an organization that accelerates global research, drives risk reduction and early detection, and maximizes quality care and support."
