Man Charged In Stabbing, Punching Of East Brunswick Couple

Ross Mittleman was charged with aggravated assault on 2 East Brunswick locals following a fight at a Princeton Park on Friday, police say.

PRINCETON, NJ — A man was charged and arrested for stabbing an East Brunswick man in the back and punching an East Brunswick woman in the face after all three agreed to meet at Princeton's Battlefield Park to fight on Friday.

Ross Mittleman, 21, of Princeton reportedly met with a 22-year-old man and 18-year-old woman both of East Brunswick at 500 Mercer St. on Oct. 11 at just past 8 p.m. All three had known each other before and were meeting for Mittleman and the 22-year-old to fight, Princeton Police said.

During the fight, Mittleman pulled out a knife and stabbed the East Brunswick man at least two times in his back and also punched the woman in the face, police said.

When police got to the park they found the East Brunswick man sitting on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds to his back, police said.

Police found Mittleman shortly afterwards nearby the park and arrested him.

The East Brunswick man was transported to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening at the scene and his current condition is unknown, police said.

The woman reportedly refused medical attention.

Mittleman was charged with aggravated assault (second-degree), simple assault (disorderly persons offense), unlawful possession of a weapon (fourth-degree), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (third-degree) and was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center.
