Men Used Hammers To Smash Jewelry Cases At East Brunswick Kohl's
Two Brooklyn men used hammers to smash jewelry cases and grab merchandise in a burglary Feb. 11 at the East Brunswick Kohl's, say police.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Two Brooklyn men used hammers to smash jewelry cases and grab valuable merchandise in a burglary Feb. 11 at the East Brunswick Kohl's, say police.
The incident happened at approximately 2:15 p.m. last Tuesday: Three suspects, two men and a woman, entered the store while a fourth remained in a car parked in front of Kohl’s, say police.
Carrying tote bags, the suspects walked directly to the jewelry display cases. There, both of the men used hammers to break the display cases open and remove the jewelry inside, while the woman took items in the area of the display cases, said police.

After taking the merchandise, all three suspects exited the store and entered a black Dodge Charger, which fled the area southbound on Rt. 18. The value of the stolen jewelry is approximately $157,000, with the damage to the display case valued at more than $2,000.
After reviewing interior surveillance footage and still shots, Detective Alex Danese, with the assistance of the NYPD and police departments from Pennsylvania and Delaware was able to positively identify the two male suspects as Andrew Joyner, 35, and Garry Dunbar, 23, both of Brooklyn.

Police say the two are responsible for similar crimes within the New York City area as well as other states throughout the Northeast.
Joyner and Dunbar were both charged with Shoplifting, Conspiracy to Commit Shoplifting, Criminal Mischief and warrants were issued for both. Investigation is continuing in an attempt to identify the female suspect as well as the driver.
