Mold Closes North Brunswick High School For Entire Week
North Brunswick High School will remain closed through the end of this week due to the discovery of mold in the building.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The mold problems are continuing to plague New Jersey schools at the start of the school year, and now we can add North Brunswick to the list: North Brunswick High School will remain closed through the end of this week due to the discovery of mold in the building.
The mold was first discovered last week and the high school was shut down early Friday morning, MyCentralJersey first reported.
"It will not be possible to have all of the results by Friday, September 14 due to the backlog. Therefore, the high school will remain closed until September 14," North Brunswick schools superintendent Dr. Brian Zychowski wrote on the district website. "We have no control over the labs and I cannot permit staff and students into the High School until the results are returned, examined and favorable."

The mold grew at the very end of the summer, when the building's air conditioning went out, he said. Although the mold is not life threatening, it could cause respiratory issues.
