More Than 10,000 Sign Petition to Shut Down East Brunswick Pet Store

A hearing will be Monday night, March 28, on whether East Brunswick should renew the license for Just Pups.

East Brunswick, NJ - More than 107,000 people have signed an online petition demanding the East Brunswick Township Council revoke Vincent LoSacco's license for Just Pups, his East Brunswick puppy store that was hit with 267 animal cruelty violations from the NJSPCA.

This is in addition to a change.org petition that was signed by more than 1,000 people, demanding the pet store be shut down.

An NJSPCA inspector alleges that Sacco, or his employees, kept puppies without fresh water, mixed sick puppies with healthy ones, thus spreading the risk of death and disease, and perhaps most shockingly, kept three dead puppies in a freezer in the back of the store.

Sacco, who disputes the charges, defended himself in a YouTube video, and said he is being unfairly attacked by one single NJSPCA agent.

The Care2 petition was started by Nicole Miller, a West Milford, NJ resident.

"When I heard about the 267 animal cruelty charges ... brought against Vincent LoSacco, I was stunned and horrified that this level of abuse could happen in my state,” Miller said in a press release.
