To combat wildfires through reforestation initiatives, local East Brunswick direct mail marketing company DK Solutions is making headway this April with its contribution of 1,500 trees as part of its 2025 Annual Tree Planting Program.

“This year everyone I think was pretty shocked by the Los Angeles wildfire outbreak which was just hard to wrap your head around. This is on the backs of a couple years ago [with] the terrible fires in Maui.” said Liran Kapoano, Co-Founder & COO of DK Solutions. “So we decided that would be the place to send our donation this year to replace trees that were lost to wildfires.”

This program, which donates three trees for every one tree used in the process of creating direct mail from the previous year, is part of DK Solutions’ ongoing effort to improve forests and wildlife habitats across the country.

2025 FOREST FIRE REFORESTATION

2024 – 2025 saw several terrible wildfire outbreaks that harmed both local and nationwide populations. Not only were thousands of people displaced from their homes, but destroyed habitats and air pollution created more complications against long-term recovery.

DK Solutions understands this problem first-hand, as NJ experienced many wildfires over 2024 due to the extreme drought conditions that afflicted the state from August to November. With a higher fire risk spanning across all counties, sporadic wildfire outbreaks felt inevitable.

These concerns were not unfounded. NJ experienced over 900 wildfires over the past few months, churning through 6,700+ acres before the November rainfall could replenish the barren landscape. One such wildfire, the Jennings Creek wildfire, burned through an estimated 2,300 acres in NJ and an additional 2,400 acers in New York before firefighters could contain it.

What happened in NJ however paled in comparison to the notorious LA wildfires that set California ablaze in January 2025. As of this April, these fires have claimed dozens of lives and destroyed over 59,000 acres of land.

Even as parts of LA start to rebuild, there is still plenty of work left to do. Reforestation efforts are already underway to help protect against future forest fires, insect infestations, and other diseases.

DK SOLUTIONS ANNUAL TREE PLANTING CONTRIBUTIONS

Since 2022, DK Solutions has made it a goal to help reforestation initiatives across the country to give back to the environment and promote biodiversity in some of our nation’s most at-risk areas.

With the company’s 10-year anniversary only a month away, Dickstein and Kapoano have been reflecting on the past few years and thinking about how DK Solutions can help future generations enjoy the natural beauty around them.

“As natural disasters like wildfires, insect infestations, and disease continue to endanger our native forests, reforestation is needed now more than ever.” said Joel Dickstein, Co-Founder & CEO of DK Solutions. “Tree planting in the right place, at the right time can change the current trajectory of our forests within our nation. Once again I am proud of DK Solutions continued partnership in this cause with One Tree Planted."

Our trees and rainforests produce approximately 28% of all the oxygen on Earth, so it is without question that they need to be cultivated and protected at all costs.

Dickstein and Kapoano both understand the importance of protecting our nation’s forests, as both founders have contributed to the Annual Tree Planting Program for four years. Kapoano has been especially interested in the program after he spent a summer in his 20's visiting many of our nation’s national parks.

Companies like DK Solutions help set the standard of what it means to be a good steward of Earth, as they continue upholding their green initiative to provide for the next generation.
