Police Identify Man Killed In East Brunswick Condo Fire

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The man Killed in Thursday’s condo fire in East Brunswick has been identified as 65-year-old Gabriel Mesica.

Mesica was found dead by first responders who went to battle the blaze at the condo on Lake Avenue.

On Thursday, around 4:24 a.m., East Brunswick police along with all three fire districts responded to the apartments on Lake Avenue for the report of a fire. More: Man Found Dead In Thursday Morning House Fire In East Brunswick

On arrival, first responders began to work to extinguish the fire and found Mesica unresponsive inside the home, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, although initial investigation suggests the fire does not seem to be suspicious in nature.
