EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - A routine motor vehicle stop on Rt. 18 last month yielded a massive stash of illegal drugs, with large amounts of cocaine, hundreds of pills and marijuana inside the car, police announced this week. In total, the two men stopped at Rt. 18 and Cindy Way had 2.89 ounces of cocaine, 204 Alprazolam (Xanax) pills, 48 oxycodone pills, 126 grams of marijuana and hash oil, police said.
East Brunswick police pulled the Honda Civic over on Saturday, Jan. 14 just before midnight at Rt. 18 and Cindy Way for careless driving, failure to maintain a lane and running either a stop sign or a red light.
Patrolman Dennis Chieffo detected the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle and subsequently searched the Civic. A search revealed the cocaine, Xanax, marijuana and the hash oil, he said.
