Rt. 18 Traffic Stop Unearths Heroin, Cocaine Stash, Police Say
Yet another traffic stop on busy Rt. 18 in East Brunswick has resulted in cocaine and heroin found on the driver, local police say.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — Yet another traffic stop on busy Rt. 18 in East Brunswick has resulted in cocaine and heroin found on the driver, this time large amounts of the drugs that police say indicate the driver was an alleged dealer.
At approximately 2:52 a.m. last Sunday, July 15, Ptl. Mattthew Egnasko pulled over a 2000 gray BMW on Rt. 18 south and Edgeboro Road for multiple equipment violations.
During the course of the motor vehicle stop, the driver, Yameer Shamary, 21 of South Amboy was found to have an active warrant out of the Middlesex County Sheriff's department.

Shamary was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant and was found to be in possession of 147 wax paper folds of suspected heroin, and 97 plastic bags of a white powder suspected to be cocaine, police said.
He was charged with drug distribution and possession and taken to the county jail.

On June 13, tour vials of cocaine were found in a Rt. 18 traffic stop, police said: In that incident, the car was originally pulled over near Eggers Street for going 65 mph on Rt. 18, which has a 45 mph speed limit.
A teen pulled over on Rt. 18 at Tices Lane July 2 was found with a loaded handgun in his car that had been reported stolen out of Georgia.
Additionally, a driver and his passenger originally pulled over for not wearing seat belts on Rt. 18 on June 1 unearthed a loaded, unregistered handgun in the car.
