Local Theatre Community Mourns Actress Killed In South Brunswick Hit-&-Run
Kerri Lynn Shea of East Windsor was a member of East Brunswick-based Playhouse 22. She was killed in a hit-and-run on Feb. 25.
EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ —Playhouse 22, the East Brunswick-based community theatre group is mourning the loss of actress Kerri Lynn Shea who was killed in a hit-and-run in South Brunswick on Feb. 25.
Shea, an East Windsor resident, was an active member of the NJ theatre community and worked in many popular productions like "The Diary of Anne Frank," and "A Christmas Carol."
On Monday, Playhouse 22 announced the passing of Shea in a Facebook post. "She was a long-time member of our family having appeared in many of our shows, served on our board, and most notably, had appeared regularly in our annual production of A Christmas Carol," Playhouse 22 said. "Sadly, she was killed in a hit-and-run automobile crash in South Brunswick on Saturday night on her way home to her husband Chris and — unquestionably her favorite part — mother to her daughter, Emilia. Please keep her family in your thoughts."
On February 25, around 9:58 p.m., authorities responded to the intersection of Route 130 and Route 32 in South Brunswick, following the report of a crash. On arrival, authorities found Shea on the scene, who died as a result of the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene on foot, police said. The investigation is active and continuing.
Law enforcement is pursuing the identification and apprehension of the other driver and is seeking the community's assistance.
