Watson Coleman, Mayfield To Face Off In NJ's 12th District November

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — The primary race in NJ’s 12th congressional district came with no surprises as both candidates – Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman and Darius Mayfield – were unopposed.

Watson Coleman will now square off against Republican challenger Mayfield in the November race for New Jersey's 12th Congressional District.

Watson Coleman is seeking her fifth term in the house of representatives.

Born in new Brunswick, Mayfield describes himself as a businessman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, activist. His campaign motto is “Not Black, Not white, American,” and he’s is seeking his first term.

“Thank you District 12! "Not Black. Not White. American." isn't just a tagline, it's a way of life and has been for a long time, now, however, certain people will have you believe WE can't coexist. We can. We will,” Mayfield posted on twitter Tuesday.

The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
