Wellspring Executive Director Retires After 19 Years of Leadership
Ezra Helfand retires after 19 years at Wellspring; $19K campaign launched to honor his legacy and support community programs.

After nearly two decades of service, Ezra Helfand has officially retired as Executive Director of Wellspring Center for Prevention. Helfand joined the organization in 2006 and has led it through significant growth, including a major rebranding, program expansion, and increased access to prevention, education, and school-based mental health services across Middlesex and Monmouth counties.
During his tenure, Helfand oversaw a team of 29 professionals and helped more than double the organization’s operating budget to serve our communities. Under his leadership, Wellspring became a recognized leader in youth prevention education, professional training, and community-based advocacy.
The #19for19 Campaign
In lieu of a retirement party, Helfand requested the launch of a $19,000 fundraising campaign, one thousand dollars for each year of his service, to help sustain and grow the very programs he helped build.
