Woman Admits To DUI Crash That Killed East Brunswick Man
A Paterson woman pleaded guilty to driving drunk and causing the death of an 80-year-old East Brunswick man in a fatal Rt. 1 crash.

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Paterson woman pleaded guilty to driving drunk and causing the death of an 80-year-old East Brunswick man in a fatal Rt. 1 crash that occurred in September 2018.
Elizabeth Gomez, 43, of Paterson, pleaded guilty on December 23 to second-degree vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated.
Under the terms of a plea deal, she will be sentenced to 10 years in prison and must serve 85 percent of her prison term before becoming eligible for parole. In addition, Gomez will lose her license for five years when she is released.

Patch wrote about the crash when it first happened: The crash happened at 2:12 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 2018. Wen-Fu Lin, 80, of East Brunswick was killed as he was pulling out of the North Brunswick Walmart on Rt. 1. A woman driving a BMW allegedly ran the red light there, and slammed into his Chevy Malibu, said police at the time. The 47-year old male passenger in his car was also injured.
Lin had been just pulling out of the Walmart shopping center, police said.

Gomez was identified as the BMW driver.
Lin died on the scene.
