Woman Indicted In North Brunswick Fatal DWI Crash: Prosecutor
A woman from Paterson was indicted Friday in what police say was a drunk driving fatal crash at the North Brunswick Walmart on Rt 1.

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A woman from Paterson was indicted Friday in what police say was a drunk driving fatal crash at the North Brunswick Walmart on Rt 1.
The crash happened just after midnight on September 22, 2018: An 80-year-old East Brunswick man was killed when Elizabeth Gomez, 42, of Paterson, ran a red light on Rt. 1, the Middlesex County prosecutor said.
Police say Gomez was under the influence of alcohol when she ran a red light on Rt. 1 near Fashion Plaza Drive (the North Brunswick Walmart complex). She was driving a BMW X3 southbound, and crashed into a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu pulling out of the parking lot.

The driver of the Malibu, Wen-Fu Lin, 80, of East Brunswick was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A 47-year old male passenger in his car was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.
Gomez was indicted Friday for one count of vehicular homicide in the second degree, one count of strict liability vehicular homicide in the third degree, and one count of assault by auto in the fourth degree.

She had previously been issued three motor vehicle summonses at the scene for driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, and failure to observe a red traffic signal.
