Health Care Costs in Morris, Somerset Counties Lower Than N.J. Average

The cost of colonoscopies, MRIs, CT scans and mammograms differ by hospital, county and state, according to a healthcare consumer advocacy organization.

Four common medical procedures cost nearly the same in Morris and Somerset counties, but lower than the state average costs, according to data from New Choice Health, a private company that encourages people to become smarter health care consumers.

Patch worked with New Choice Health to examine the cost of CT scans, colonoscopies, MRIs and mammograms in Patch communities across the country and found wide disparities in some cases. The examination revealed that in some locations, costs can vary by thousands of dollars even within the same community.
