Why Finding Your Voice is Critical to Your Marketing

Your website, newsletter and social media posts need to sound like the real YOU, not a college term paper.

The WordPress writing prompt for today is, “what’s your style?” It led me to thinking about my own personal style, business style, speaking style, writing style…you get the picture.

Think of style adjectives you believe would best represent your business, then take a look at your marketing and online presence. Is your social media, website, blog and newsletter material all pointing to and staying true to that style?

Perhaps the real starting point is this question – how do you want your clients to think of you?

There are professional stylists out there who will help you dress the part (I’ve used this service myself), but I’m here to make sure that your true business voice rings loud and clear in your written online marketing materials. Read your blog or newsletter content out loud – does it sound like you? Are you trying to appear more formal than is actually called for in your business?

Take a look at your brand, your writing, your online style – is it really consistent throughout all your entities? If you see a disconnect, and don’t know how to fix it, reach out to me for help.
