“I am extremely humbled and honored to be recommended as the next Superintendent of the East Windsor Regional School District,” Daniels said. “I would like to sincerely thank the members of the Board of Education for their vote of confidence by selecting me to serve as the educational leader of this very impressive school district! I am eager to get to work and begin the leadership required to successfully nurture and develop the academic and social-emotional needs of each student within this diverse learning community.”
Daniels will take over as permanent superintendent following Dr. Richard Katz’s resignation. Katz resigned earlier this year to become the Human Resources Director in the North Plainfield Public School District, according to The Trentonian.

Michael Dzwonar has been serving as the Acting Superintendent, and will continue to do so until Daniels is sworn in. He will then return to his position of Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Assessment, a position he has held for the past 15 years, according to the district.
“The superintendent search was a community-wide effort and Mr. Daniels truly represents the qualities that were identified in the ideal candidate profile,” East Windsor Regional School District Board of Education President Alice Weisman said. “Mr. Daniels not only possesses the knowledge, passion, and leadership skills we desired, but he also has a keen understanding and commitment to the diversity that we cherish as a community.”
Daniels currently serves as Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services for The Plainfield Public School District, according to the East Windsor School District.
The superintendent search process began in August and included four rounds of interviews and 16 final candidates. The final candidates were chosen because they best met the East Windsor Regional School District Superintendent Search Profile developed by the West Hudson Associates using community stakeholder input, according to the district.
Daniels has 23 years of educational experience as a teacher, elementary school principal, middle school principal, Director of Human Resources, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, and Acting Superintendent. He has worked for the Camden and South Brunswick school districts.
Daniels earned his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Cheyney University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Media and Africana Studies from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.
He lives in Burlington Township with his wife, Sharon, and their three children. He is a Philadelphia Eagles fan who enjoys listening to music, reading and running.
