Police Investigate Murder At East Windsor Home: Prosecutor

Police are investigating the apparent murder of 30-year-old Luis Sanchez, police said Wednesday evening.

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ - Police are investigating the apparent murder of a 30-year-old man who was found unresponsive in his home in East Windsor, authorities said Wednesday evening.

East Windsor police responded to a home on the first block of Bennington Drive at about 8:30 a.m., according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office. Upon arrival, police found Luis Sanchez unresponsive on the back patio area of the home.

There were visible wounds and trauma to his body, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Sanchez lived in the home, and was found by a friend Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

The case is being investigated by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the East Windsor Township Police Department. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday evening.

Residents told Patch there was a heavy police presence in the area. One described seeing burned furniture and a mattress inside the police tape outside the home. They provided photos that were taken outside the home, and can be found below.

Another resident told Patch they were shocked by the murder and that they had never seen anything like this during their time living in the township. In 2016, an East Windsor woman was indicted in the murder of her 73-year-old mother-in-law. Tasneem Diwan was ultimately deemed to be not guilty by reason of insanity.
