Man Pleads Guilty To Aggravated Manslaughter In East Windsor Stabbing
Jefrey Vasquez-Calderon fatally stabbed his neighbor Luis Sanchez in 2019, authorities said.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — An East Windsor resident who was charged in connection with the 2019 fatal stabbing of his neighbor has pleaded guilty this week to aggravated manslaughter, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Thursday.
Jefrey Vasquez-Calderon, 40, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree aggravated manslaughter before Mercer County Superior Court Judge Robert E. Lytle on Tuesday.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, the state will recommend that Vasquez-Calderon be sentenced to 22 years in state prison under the No Early Release Act, Onofri said.

On Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, around 8:30 a.m., East Windsor police responded to Luis Sanchez's home in the first block of Bennington Drive and found him unresponsive on the back patio. There were wounds and trauma to Sanchez's body and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Investigation revealed that Sanchez and Vasquez-Calderon left a nearby liquor store to lounge together earlier that evening. After returning to Sanchez's residence, Vasquez-Calderon stabbed Sanchez numerous times with a knife, according to the investigation. The two men were acquaintances and neighbors.

Vasquez-Calderon is scheduled to be sentenced on November 4.
The investigation was conducted by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the East Windsor Township Police Department.
