Annual India Day Parade To Be Held In Edison On Sunday
The 19th Annual India Day Parade will mark the 76th Indian Independence day.
EDISON, NJ — Edison will be decked in saffron, white and green, as Indian Americans get ready to celebrate India's independence day on Sunday.
The 19th Annual India Day Parade will mark the 76th Indian Independence Day. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Oak Tree Road and make it ways to Iselin.
The grand marshal for this year's parade will be Indian actress Tamannaah Bhatia. The parade is being organized by the Indian Business Association.

"We have a great line of entertainment for you all and look forward to seeing all our fellow Indians and Indian supporters in large numbers to celebrate Indian Independence Day," IBA said in a Facebook post.
The celebrations will include floats, musical performances, food and more.

Last year's celebrations were marred by controversy after the organizers included a float with a bulldozer. The construction equipment has become synonymous with demolishing homes of Muslims and dissenters of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
