Edison 'Hellboy' Charged In Reported Motorcycle Gang Beating

Robert "Hellboy" DeRonde faces aggravated assault charges in connection to the beating, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.

EDISON, NJ — An Edison man has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly beating a member of a rival motorcycle gang in Newark.

Robert "Hellboy" DeRonde, 54, of Edison, was arrested after allegedly beating a man with a baseball bat at a Newark gas station on April 24, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office confirmed to Patch. He allegedly used a metal bat in the attack, leaving the other man with multiple broken ribs.

The beating was allegedly in connection to the two men's motorcycle gang affiliations: DeRonde is an alleged member of the Pagan motorcycle gang, while the man he is accused of beating is a member of the Hell's Angels group, NJ Advanced Media reported.

This is not the first time DeRonde has been arrested in connection to his alleged involvement with the Pagan motorcycle gang. In 2010, DeRonde was arrested as part of a large-scale investigation into the group. In that case, he was charged with drug distribution.
