The Edison Police Department Is Hiring. Here's How To Apply
The application process is highly competitive and preference will be given to Edison residents.
EDISON, NJ – The Edison Police Department is recruiting entry-level police officers to join the force. The online application portal will be open through Friday.
The Township is seeking men and women to protect the diverse community which is home to more than 100,000 residents and growing businesses.
Edison residents are especially encouraged to apply and will be given preference during the application process, the Township said.

The application process is highly competitive, and candidates who are hired will be sent to the police academy by the Township.
“Recruitment, hiring and retention of the best law enforcement officers is critical for a safe, thriving community and future," Mayor Sam Joshi said.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Not less than 18 nor more than 35 years of age on the date of hire
- Must possess a valid NJ Driver’s License
- Must have a minimum of 60 college credits
- Applicant must be a citizen of the United States
- Preference will be given to Edison residents
