Election Day In Edison-Metuchen: When, Where to Vote
Voters will head to the polls to vote in local and statehouse elections on Tuesday.
EDISON, NJ — Edison and Metuchen residents will be heading the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 2 to vote for state and local candidates.
This year New Jersey gave voters three options to cast their ballots — early voting, vote-by-mail, and by going to their polling place, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Nov. 2. The state has made accommodations for voters with disabilities.

Who, What's On The Ballot:
Gov. Phil Murphy is facing a challenge from Republican nominee, Jack Ciattarelli, as well as Madelyn Hoffman of the Green Party of New Jersey, Gregg Mele of the New Jersey Libertarian Party, and Joanne Kuniansky of the Socialist Workers Party.
Residents of NJ District 18 which includes Edison and Metuchen, will vote for the senate and assembly. Democrat Sen. Patrick Diegnan Jr., is seeking re-election and is facing a challenge from Republican Vihal Patel, from Edison. In the assembly contest Democrats Sterley Stanley of East Brunswick and Robert Karabinchak of Edison are facing four candidates - Republicans Angela Fam and Melanie McAnn Mott, Independent Brain Kulas, and Libertarian David Awad.
In Edison, Democrat Sam Joshi will face Republican Keith Hahn in the mayoral race. There are six candidates for three council seats — Tali Epstein, Joseph Luistro, and Payal Mehta (R); and Margot Harris, John Poyner, and Nishith Patel (D).
Nine candidates are vying for three open seats on the Edison Board of Education. They are:

- Gabriel Haller
- Douglas Schneider
- Brian Rivera
- Elizabeth M. Conway
Edison residents will also vote on the Open Space referendum which is on the ballot this year. It hopes to create an Open Space Trust Fund to improve and finance playgrounds, parks, sports fields, and more in the Township.
