Joshi said Toth was an amazing person who was “incredible, hardworking, passionate and compassionate,” who goes out of his way to help people.

During the pandemic, Toth worked all hours to help keep the town safe, Joshi said.

He wants to make sure our municipality is safe not just in the worst moments during the pandemic but also in moments of immense crisis with fire that come about,” Joshi said.

“Our public needs to know that we are all safe under the leadership of our chiefs.”

The swearing in ceremony saw a packed room with family, friends, members of law enforcement and fire division.

Police Chief Tom Bryan said Toth was a “wealth of knowledge, friendly and loving.”

“One of his greatest character attributes is that he continually goes above and beyond for anyone, to help in anyway,” Bryan said.

Bryan congratulated Toth on his various achievements and wished him luck in leading the men and women of his department.
