EDISON, NJ — This summer is a special one in Edison. The Clara Barton area comes alive with music, food, and special events during the week.

It all began in June when the Edison Chamber of Commerce launched Mayor Thomas Lankey’s summer music series every Wednesday night on the corner of Amboy Avenue and Third Street. The event provides free entertainment to residents and visitors. Local businesses joined in as well, to do their part in bringing in more crowds through their menu specials.

And now, the Chamber is taking it a step further. They have partnered with Edison Community Beautification to develop an array of free community events for the rest of the summer and fall.

On Mondays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be live music with a local artist and artisan vendor market known as “Meet Your Neighbors Monday” at 926 Amboy Avenue. There will be food vendors on site including food trucks such as Cousins Maine Lobster and the Mexi-Boys, an ice cream cart, specialty items like quiche, and vegan entrees from local chef Raphi Victus and delicacies from the Coffee House.

The summer music series continues every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the corner of Amboy Avenue and Third Street. A closed section of the street will allow for table seating and room for guests to bring chairs to enjoy performances. There are $5 food specials at the nearby Ruby’s Kitchen, Nick’s Meat Depot, and Fratelli’s Pizza Café. The Coffee House will sell soft drinks and ice cream.
