Edison approves $589K for license plate readers, police drone system (mycentraljersey.com) — Edison officials have approved spending $589,000 in asset forfeiture funds on new police technology, including more license plate readers and an advanced drone system that can reach anywhere in town in under a minute. Supporters say the tools will boost crime-solving and help find missing people, while one councilman opposed the move over privacy and staffing concerns.
   

2. Edison Elks Lodge destroyed by early morning fire (nj.com subscription) — A major early-morning fire destroyed the longtime Edison Elks Lodge on Old Post Road, drawing a large response from Edison firefighters but causing no reported injuries. Mayor Sam Joshi shared images of the extensive damage and pledged support as the Elks community, which has served Edison since 1973, begins planning to rebuild.
   

3. Football: Sayreville Runs Past St. Thomas Aquinas, 37-21 (tapinto.net) — High school football fans in Edison saw Sayreville's ground game dominate St. Thomas Aquinas, as the visitors rolled up 491 rushing yards in a 37-21 win. Senior back Sherwin Appiah ran for 285 yards and four scores, while Sayreville's defense piled up tackles to move the Bombers to 4-1 ahead of next week's trip to Old Bridge.
   

4. Wardlaw+Hartridge Celebrates Hispanic History Month (tapinto.net) — Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison is marking Hispanic Heritage Month with activities across its Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools, from music brackets to cultural presentations. Edison families are invited to participate in assemblies and special events that highlight Hispanic heritage, food, music, and student-led initiatives throughout the month.
   

5. Two Edison Men Charged for Trafficking Marijuana/THC Products in Pennsylvania (tapinto.net) — Two Edison residents have been charged in Pennsylvania for allegedly helping run a large marijuana and THC trafficking ring that investigators say moved millions of dollars in illegal products through warehouses and convenience stores. Authorities seized about 150,000 items and traced $18.7 million in suspected proceeds, and the two local men now await preliminary hearings alongside 10 Pennsylvania co-defendants.
