St. Joe's Metuchen Seeks Approval To Host Football Games Under Lights
The school wants to host six football games this year and is seeking zoning board approval for temporary lights.

METUCHEN, NJ — St. Joseph’s High School has petitioned the borough’s Zoning Board for permission to host six night games this year.
Last year, St. Joe’s hosted the first ever football game in school history under the lights. The school wishes to continue the same this year as well.
The school is seeking preliminary and final major site plan and “d(3)” variance approval from the Metuchen Zoning Board.

St. Joe’s is seeking approval to permit temporary lights on the athletic field and allow use of the field by third parties.
“Last year, the Falcons played their first Friday Night Lights game in school history, and are looking to continue the tradition at the Saint Joseph High School 2023 Homecoming event,” the school said on its website.

Usually, the school plays its football games in the afternoon.
