$16K Donated For Bergen Drowning Victim's Funeral

Luke Rambharose, 18, who just graduated from Leonia High School this year, drowned on Thursday at Harriman State Park while cliff diving.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Nearly $16,000 has been donated to help pay for the funeral expenses of a county man who drowned Thursday at Harriman State Park in New York while cliff diving with friends.

Luke Rambharose, 18, of Leonia was a member of the Palisades Park/Leonia High School Tigers football team, according to NorthJersey.com.

The St. Mary's High School football team, whom Rambharose also played for, tweeted that the school "lost a great man."

Dawn Marie, a family friend, called Rambharose "a great boy" who had a positive attitude.

"He made everyone around him happy with his infectious smile," Marie told NJ.com.

Kristian Ragland, a long-time friend, said Rambharose was "funny and playful" and talked about joining the ROTC to help pay the cost of college, in the NJ.com article.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 216 4th Street in Englewood, where the funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, according to Daily Voice.
