On June 5th at 7:30 pm, Al Stawsky, Chair of the Criminal
Justice Reform Task Force of the Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of
New Jersey, will talk about the dangerous state of the criminal justice system,
the bloated system it has created, and its disproportionate targeting of people
of color, keeping racism and its consequences alive today.
The talk will cover how New Jersey’s criminal justice and
prison systems are in line with the national patterns and New Jersey State
legislative actions that are being pursued to help alleviate the situation. The
presentation will be held in The Historic Lydecker House at 228 Grand Avenue in
Englewood. All are invited to come and learn more about the actions being taken
and how to support these ongoing efforts.
This free event is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist
Congregation of the Palisades, a multi-cultural, anti-racist community of
faith, dedicated to the principles of the inherent worth and dignity of every
person and justice, equity, and compassion in human relations.
