Englewood Resident involved in Hurricane Relief Benefit. Atlantic City Convention Center on Saturday, December 22nd.

Hurricane Sandy relief event taking place in Atlantic City, Saturday, December 22nd. Off The Mat, Into New Jersey.

Englewood resident, Sharon Pingitore, yoga teacher and blogger for Rebelle Society, has teamed up with Seane Corn, a world renown yoga teacher and New Jersey native and Debby Kaminsky of The Newark Yoga Movement, and a host of other yoga practitioners to run a Hurricane Sandy relief benefit.

All are invited to join Off the Mat, Into the World, exhale mind body spa and the Atlantic City Alliance at the Atlantic City Convention Center on Saturday, December 22, 2012 from 12-3pm as they come together through the mindfulness of yoga to support the New Jersey communities affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The three-hour yoga session will kick off with a short video on the aftermath and devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy allowing yogis to contemplate their intentions before beginning their practice. The yoga practice will be led by New Jersey natives Seane Corn co-founder of Off the Mat, Fred DeVito and Elisabeth Halfpapp of exhale mind body spa and Beryl Bender Birch of The Hard & The Soft Yoga Institute.

Off the Mat, Into New Jersey is the brainchild of Seane Corn who says, “Having grown up in New Jersey, any devastation to New Jersey goes right to my heart and roots. When Hurricane Sandy happened I knew I needed to do something to help.”

All proceeds from the event’s ticket sales will go directly to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund and Global Green USA. Event organizers anticipate over 1,500 guests with a goal to raise $500,000. An anonymous donor has agreed to match the first $10,000 raised.

Take part in this healing practice from anywhere in the world by tuning in to the class, which will be streamed live through Studio Live TV. A minimum donation will be required to view the live stream class. Any additional donations can be made through Off The Mat, Into the World.

Exhale kicks off the weekend with Winter Solstice Yoga on Friday, December 21 at Bask by exhale at Revel Resorts. Join Core Fusion Co-Founders, Fred Devito and Elisabeth Halfpapp, at 6pm in the O2 (located on the lobby level) at Revel Resorts and welcome the winter solstice with a night of music and yoga flow under the stars. Exhale will donate all proceeds from the Winter Solstice Yoga class and a portion of all proceeds from the weekend spa therapies to relief efforts.

A minimum donation of $25 is asked although no one will be turned away. Guests are encouraged to bring a new toy or gift card to the event that will be distributed to New Jersey families in need.
