Robert Sturman ~ Artist/Photografía comes back to NYC
Robert Sturman, Los Angeles photographer, returns east to photograph yogis and yoginis. This time the autumnal colors provide the back deep..
It seems like every time Robert Sturman comes east something magical happens. Robert Sturman, for those of you who are not familiar with his work, is a LA photographer who has taken the picture of many yogis. His work has graced the pages of such publications as Origin Magazine. His photos with the prisoners of San Quentin is mesmerizing. He captures the soul of his subjects.
Last fall he was sitting in a coffee shop, minding his own business when the girl with the red dress appeared. She had a guitar case and cowboy boots and apparently he was intrigued.
Upon further conversation he found out she was a yogi. They took to the streets of Mnahattan and the rest is history. Those pictures have brought attention to Robert and his beautiful model, Meghan Currie. What might be more interesting is that they never saw each other again. This past August, at the grand opening of You and the Mat studio, they were reunited for a red carpet, I mean red dress event.

Last May, Robert, again came east. With a full schedule he ventured out to Connecticut, upstate New York and Central Park. He received a call asking him if he wanted to take pictures of Tao Porchon-Lynch, the world's oldest yoga teacher. So off he went, camera in hand to create art.
What happened was magical. His portrait of Tao raised interest around the world. The New York Times interviewed him. The story was all over the internet. The article in elephant journal reached almost 100,000 views.
