How to Assess if Surgery Makes Sense for Your Child: A Special Presentation for Parents of Children with Cerebral Palsy and Special Needs
Free Admission, but please RSVP to (212) 305-2700
Dinner will be served
The ultimate goal of treatment for children with orthopedic problems is to improve their quality of life. Because children may lack the abilities to effectively interpret and answer questions used to assess their own quality of life, parents are asked to make the difficult decisions.
Dr. Joshua Hyman, Associate Director of the Weinberg Family CP Center, will discuss your approach to assessing the pros and cons of surgery and the impact on your child's quality of life. While Dr. Hyman is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, the discussion will address all types of surgeries.
-Learn the questions to ask your provider
-Hear the indicators to look for
-Understand assessment of risks
