• Judge approves $1.6M settlement in Englewood parks assault case (wchram.com) — Englewood has agreed to a $1.6 million settlement with a local family after their young daughter was allegedly assaulted while attending a city-run after-school program. Prosecutors say the accused staffer, a relative of the former parks director, now faces multiple serious charges and remains jailed as an additional assault charge was recently filed. The case raises sharp questions about city hiring and oversight of youth programs.
