Sheriff's Office Investigating Hit-And-Run Accident On Route 4

Authorities are looking for a box truck that allegedly hit a woman on Route 4 west at midnight Tuesday.

The truck was seen swerving to avoid a female pedestrian on Route 4 west, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver of the vehicle stopped alongside the highway, checked on the woman, and left the scene; the driver is described as a “large, stocky, bald Caucasian” man, authorities said.

Authorities did not provide information on the woman’s condition.
