St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Englewood Welcomes New Rector

The Reverend William Allport will preside and preach at the 8am and 10:30am services of the Feast of the Presentation, a commemoration of Jesus' presentation in the temple.

Fr. Bill begins his new ministry on Sunday, the fortieth day after Christmas, which makes an interesting coincidence. Forty is a significant number in the Bible (e.g., 40 days of rain in the story of Noah, the Israelites' 40 years in the desert, Jesus' 40 days fast at the beginning of his ministry). St Paul's "forty day celebration" will indeed be a celebratory occasion as the parish's 18th rector is welcomed on February 2.

Centrally located, the historic St. Paul's Episcopal Church is at 113 Engle Street, Englewood NJ.  The Gothic building with its rose limestone foundation has stained glass windows from Tiffany, La Farge, and Lamb Studios.
