• Recruitment Open Houses (nj.gov) — The New Jersey Department of Corrections is holding a free recruitment open house in Ewing on October 28 at the Jones Farm Conference and Training Center on Bear Tavern Road for anyone interested in becoming a Correctional Police Officer. Attendees can ask about pay, benefits, training, and even schedule their first pre‑employment processing step, with another session planned in Edison the following day.
   

• Capital Health Recognized as 2026 Wellbeing First Champion for Supporting Health Workers' Access to Mental Health Care (capitalhealth.org) — Health workers serving Ewing residents at Capital Health can now seek mental health or substance-use treatment without worrying that honest answers on credentialing forms will threaten their jobs. Capital Health, whose network includes a primary care practice in Ewing, has been named a 2026 Wellbeing First Champion for removing intrusive mental health questions and strengthening its THRIVE wellness program for clinicians.
   

• Trenton Police Seize 70 Slot Machines and Over $100,000 from Alleged Citywide Gambling Network (sccgmanagement.com) — Ewing police joined Trenton, state, and county authorities in an 11‑month investigation that seized 70 illegal slot machines and over $100,000 from businesses across Trenton. A Philadelphia man now faces gambling, money laundering, weapons, and drug charges, and local shops that hosted the machines received summonses, with police urging residents in Ewing and nearby towns to report similar activity.
