Naomi Kutin has had a busy summer.
The Fair Lawn 9-year-old, who wowed the powerlifting community in her debut last August, has achieved another milestone in her brief career.
On July 10 in Clearfield, PA. at the ADAU National Championships, Naomi squatted 205 lbs. to set the all-time record for the women’s 97 lb. weight class.

“If she were 29 instead of 9, this would be very newsworthy as a bona fide world record in our town,” said her dad Ed Kutin. “Nobody anywhere near her age, male or female, holds a comparable world record in powerlifting.”
The previous record squat was 203 lbs. held by a woman who was a multi-time international champion.
