Fair Lawn Car Burglars Caught Thursday: Police
Man and woman took money and credit cards from vehicles, police said.
FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Two people were arrested Thursday after police were called about vehicles being burglarized, authorities said.
Police responded to 3rd Street near Morlot Avenue shortly before 4:30 p.m. after a resident in the area saw a man and woman burglarizing parked vehicles, Sgt. Brian Metzler said in a news release.
Police found Jesse McCallum, 28, of Rutherford, and Shira Lazar, 25, of Teaneck, in Paterson and arrested them after cash, credit and gift cards, and compact discs were found in McCullum's possession, Metzler said.

Both McCallum and Lazar were charged with burglary and theft; Lazar, who had drugs on her, was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Metzler said.
Bail on each of them was set at $15,000 with a 10 percent option. They were both sent to the Bergen County Jail, Metzler said.
