Fair Lawn Streets Will Be Closed Saturday For Officer's Funeral

Officer Ed Egan, a 27-year veteran of the Fair Lawn Police Department, died Monday.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — River Road, Morlot Avenue, and surrounding streets will be closed from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday for the late Officer Edward Egan's funeral procession, police announced.

Egan, 52, was a 27-year Fair Lawn officer. He died Monday surrounded by his family. He suffered from cancer and had heart problems. He was a lifelong Fair Lawn resident, a graduate of Fair Lawn High School, and a firefighter with Company 2 since he was 18.

Visitation with family and friends is Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Van Riper-Ellis-Broadway Baptist Church, 7-01 River Road, Fair Lawn. A funeral service is 7 p.m. Saturday at the church. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Egan's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718.
