Railroad Project To Detour Traffic On Fair Lawn Road Thursday
Detours will be put in place. Motorists should expect delays in the area and allow for extra time when driving in the area.

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Parts of Fair Lawn Avenue will be closed beginning Thursday as part of a massive rehabilitation project on the railroad crossing in the area.
Beginning at 9 a.m., two-way traffic on Fair Lawn Avenue will stop between Plaza Road and Pollitt Drive, before the railroad crossing.

- Motorists traveling east will go to Route 208 South and take the Plaza Road exit and back onto Fair Lawn Avenue.
- Motorists traveling west will be make a left onto Plaza Road, a right onto Berdan Avenue, onto Route 208 North, and then back onto Fair Lawn Avenue.
The federally-funded project will replace the existing crossing with a new concrete crossing and new asphalt. Work is expected to be complete by Oct. 27. The state Department of Transportation (DOT) will oversee the work.
