Saddle Brook Police Investigating Rash Of Break-Ins

BREAKING: Two homes and a shed were burglarized in the past two weeks, police said.

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Police said that the theft of power tools from a borough home under construction may be related to other recent break-ins in town.

The North Boulevard home was burglarized sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

DeWalt power drills, a skill saw and grinder were stolen, said police Chief Robert Kugler; their total value is more than $1,000.

Homes on Ash Avenue and Evans Place and a shed in a yard on Hillside Avenue, were all burglaries in the past two weeks, the chief said.

"We have our hunches on who or the type of person who may be responsible for these break-ins and thefts," Kugler said, "it is most likely motivated by needing fast cash to satisfy a drug dependency."
